Case Patrice Nganang - Dieudonné Essomba (Economist): "Nganang insulted me by calling me baboon. Why did not I put him in jail? Because I do not have that power. He insulted the authorities, especially the head of state. He has the power to put him in prison "

The economist Dieudonné Essomba was one of the guests of the latest edition of the program "Elite Club" broadcast on Vision 4. During the broadcast of December 17, 2017, he spoke on the case Patrice Nganang accused including of contempt to a body corporate. He declares that  "we must respect the law because when we do not respect it we are punished". He says, however, that if the law were unquestionable, the world would never evolve and "we would have remained so primitive".

Dieudonne Essomba says that it was because there were people who could fight the law that there was the exit of independence. According to him, as much we must respect the law as it is necessary that the people who command us also draw lessons. "A Nganang like that, which translates the violence of hatred rather brutally, must question these people. How did we get people to hate us at this level? Nganang had the courage to say it? It's a burnt head. There are many others who do not have this courage but who do not think less .

He reiterates that once the law has been violated, one must be arrested like Nganang at the risk of everyone starting to rape her. He argues that the law only makes sense if it can be applied. " I say once again that the law is a balance of power. Nganang insulted me by calling me baboon. Why did not I put him in jail? Because I do not have that power. He insulted the authorities, especially the head of state. He has the power to put him in prison. This means that the power that the head of state has to put him in prison must be the counterpart of the obligation that he has to assume his missions correctly to reduce the hatred that one has vis-à-vis -vis him.
