Ambazonia flag raised at Ndu grand stand to protest against Youth day

As the youth day keeps approaching, the uncertainty around the event in the two English-speaking regions in Cameroon keeps taking a new twist.

Residents in the locality of Ndu got up on Thursday morning to discover Ambazonians had raised their flag at the grand stand as a sign of protest and disobedience to the administration.

According to local reports on the ground, the flag was raised as early as 4am by a gang of boys claiming to be die hard Ambazonians and promising hell to any person person who dares step their legs on the grand stand to celebrate youth day activities on 11 February.

This is the latest action in a series of threats with regards to boycotts of the youth day activities in the Anglophone regions.

Sources say tracts and flyers have been circulating warning people from marching on that day in both regions.

Authorities in both regions have been holding meetings to see how they can make the day a success though the Governor of the South West region Bernard Okalia Bilai has exempted nursery school pupils from marching as a precautionary measure.

Last year, the 11 February march pass and festivities were highly boycotted in the two-English speaking regions especially in rural areas given the impass that schools found themselves in.

The scenario could reproduce itself effective measures are not taken given the fact that schools are not effective in most rural areas in the two-English speaking regions.
