The case is enlisted at the Yaoundé Military Court where the next hearing is scheduled for February 5, 2018.
This is a case that tarnishes the image of the body of the National Police. Nana Madji , a first-class police officer on duty in Kousseri in the Far-North region, is being prosecuted for "financing acts of terrorism and complicity in acts of terrorism" . His trial opened at the Yaoundé Military Court in February 2017.
The Eye of the Sahel published on January 19, 2018, dwells on the subject by pointing out that since November 20, 2017, "the case has known 4 references to the request of the Public Ministry for production of other evidence. At the hearing on 9 January, the President of the collegiality of judges, also president of the military court, informed in a statement that the hearing was sent to 5 February 2018 " .
According to the story of our colleague, all part of January 5, 2015. That day, two people are arrested at the border with Chad. They have on them, a cargo of 41 weapons of different calibres. "Nana Madji, (the pursued police officer) is then serving at the Goulfe Border Watch Station in the Far North Region. With his colleagues and the help of the Chadian army, he proceeds to the said arrests and later, the two offenders (Abaka Lya and Djibrine Grema) will be sent to DGRE (Directorate General of External Research) by the National Agency of monitoring of Chad.
In June 2015, a sudden blow. Convened by the General Delegate for National Security (DGSN) in Yaoundé to give the details of the arrest, it is reported to Nana Madji that he would be the accomplice of the traffickers arrested. However, he returns to the Far North because no charge is held against him. On 1 st June 2016, he was again summoned by DGNS. Martin Mbarga Nguelé informs him that he is at the disposal of the DGRE.
He will pass, informs our colleague, 6 months and 19 days in the premises of the DGRE, under interrogation. On December 19, 2016, he was taken to the Judicial Police Directorate of Yaoundé. There, a confrontation takes place with the two traffickers. For the officer, "this masquerade is pure revenge of the traffickers who had promised me at the time of their arrest"
