From Synergies Africaines, to the Chantal Biya Foundation, to the Chantal Biya International Reference Center (Circb), health occupies a prominent place, and the fight against AIDS a fixation.
The reduction of the contamination of AIDS from mother to child, the prevention of HIV / AIDS through awareness campaigns, research on possible therapeutic or vaccine molecules against HIV mobilizes internationally renowned researchers at Circb. Some observers of socio-political life suggest that by these actions, Chantal Biya is in permanent campaign for her husband.
Woman of the people
At each exit, she has always demonstrated her close proximity to the population. She often foils the protocol, going to take baths of crowd, to exchange with some people. We still remember this edition of March 8 when the First Lady joined the women parading on the Boulevard du 20 mai in Yaounde. It does not miss many popular events: the evening of the Miss Cameroon election, Canal 2'Or, the March 08 parade on the occasion of International Women's Day. It recognizes the merit of having given the popular character of this day in Cameroon which is celebrated like nowhere else in the world.
Very close to the people, the mother of orphans and the disinherited, sung by the artists and adulated by the underprivileged of society who express their eternal gratitude, Chantal Biya has seduced inside and outside the borders of Cameroon . Its action is recognized at the level of international institutions. Thus, the honorary president of the Organization of Women of the Cameroonian People's Democratic Movement (Ofrdpc) was made Special Ambassador of UN-AIDS, Golden Winner with Cordon of the Grand Prix Humanitaire de France (GPHF), Goodwill Ambassador of Unesco, Commander of the International Order of Civil Protection.
His altruism and spontaneity, which are his qualities much appreciated by the public, have certainly enabled candidate Biya to win the last presidential election with a score of 71.28% of the votes cast. It is undeniable that Chantal Biya mobilizes within the population. The sympathy capital it has built is not insignificant.
The popular and destitute masses are also those who will be permeable to her speech, to that of her husband and to all those who are their representatives: ministers, directors general of companies, elected officials and various political elites. An asset and a chance for the president who will then harvest in the field of his wife.
