In Wum, in the Menchum department, still in the north-west, the inhabitants woke up this morning and discovered several houses burned down.
The fire consumed several houses of this locality. The origin of the flames remains unclear but the report was made a few hours after clashes between the Defense and Security Forces and the separatists in this district.
Wum and several localities in the North West are prone to abuses following fighting between the army and the English-speaking separatists. Many of them leave their homes to take refuge in the bush or in neighboring Nigeria.
