The president of the Movement for the Renaissance of Cameroon (MRC), Maurice Kamto and his allies were not present at the Court of Appeal of the Center where he was expected Thursday for a hearing.
According to information received by CameroonWeb editors, the extraction of political prisoners from Kondengui prison was canceled a few hours before the scheduled departure time.
For now, there is no information on the reasons for this cancellation. Our source states that other MRC activists detained at Yaoundé Central Prison and who were to take part in the same hearing were taken to the prosecutor's office.
Other MRC detainees were reportedly taken to the Ekounou Court of First Instance in the absence of their lawyers while their trial was not scheduled for Thursday.
