National dialogue: the Belgian diaspora provides itself into the debate

They were reiterated a few days after the speech in which the President of the Republic invited the sons and daughters of Cameroon, to sit together to bring peace to this country and rebuild it.

"We, Cameroonians living in Belgium, members of the Collective of committed citizens of our territory of residence,

have followed with interest, enthusiasm and admiration speech delivered by HE Paul BIYA, President of the Republic of Cameroon, the evening of September 10, 2019, about the situation prevailing in the North-West and South-West Regions of our country Cameroon, cradle of our ancestors.

Let us note with great satisfaction that the intervention of the President of the Republic, acting as the father of the nation, has filled the expectations and deep aspirations of Cameroonians, committed to peace, national cohesion, and determined to accompany him in the fight against poverty.

It should also be noted that this address of the President of the Republic received a warm and positive welcome from the friends of Cameroon, bilateral and multilateral partners, who praised the wisdom of the President of the Republic, the relevance of his remarks and the accuracy recommended measures.

We also welcome the decision of the President of the Republic to launch a national dialogue, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, which will involve all parts of the nation.

We particularly welcome the decision to take the responsible diaspora into account in this process, and to associate it, as has always been the case in the past, with this important phase of strengthening coexistence in our country.

In view of the foregoing, and taking into account all previous actions of the President of the Republic to end the crisis in the regions mentioned above, and his tireless efforts to make our country a haven of peace and prosperity, where all communities live together, We send him this sincere and vibrant support motion.

We are committed to supporting it in all these projects, especially in the conduct of this dialogue, playing our role of responsible diaspora, vector of development, actors of living together.

We urge our compatriots in Belgium to support this initiative, to stand out from the negative actions that undermine national unity, and to stand resolutely, unreservedly, in a process of return to peace in the regions concerned.

We solemnly undertake to play an active role in this respect, in an inclusive and selfless manner, in relation to all other groups or organizations pursuing the same objectives. / -
