Xenophobia: Nigerians call on Boko Haram to rescue citizens

In the face of xenophobic attacks in South Africa, some Nigerians living in Africa's second-largest economy have called on Boko Haram to attack the country.

Speaking to the media, these Nigerians have called on Boko Haram to avenge attacks against them.

On Sunday, two people died after renewed violence in Johannesburg. Protesters took to the streets, demanding the departure of foreigners.

Since the violence began last week, more than 10 people have been killed and around 500 arrested.

The violence allegedly broke out after the murder of a South African taxi driver by Nigerian drug traffickers. Pretoria taxi drivers took to the streets to protest the deaths of their colleagues. The demonstration paved the way for attacks against foreigners.
