The Littoral region presents, this Monday, its proposals for the great dialogue. Like the other regions, the delegation received by the Prime Minister is composed exclusively of members of sympathizers of the CPR, the party in power.
Consultations ahead of the "Grand National Dialogue" are continuing in Cameroon. Monday, September 23, it is the turn of the Littoral region to present its proposals for the exit of the Anglophone crisis to Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute.
31 personalities make up the Littoral delegation, about twenty of which are militant or maintain more or less close relations with the Democratic Rally of the Cameroonian People (Rdpc), the party of President Paul Biya.
Among the people called to carry the voice of the Littoral, one counts eleven members of the government or the public administration among which: the governor Samuel Ivaha Diboua, the Minister of Justice Laurent Esso, the senator Etame Massoma, the vice-president Rector of the University of Douala, Mouangue Kobila James, MP Gaston Komba, among others.
The virtual exclusivity granted to members of the Rdpc in the consultation lists makes screaming within the Cameroonian political class. The Social Democratic Front (SDF), the main opposition group, denounced it late last week, as far as the delegation of the Center region is just as monocolourous."This delegation (from the Center region) is mainly composed of activists from the Rdpc", had decried the SDF regional president for the Center, Emmanuel Ntonga. Calling this a "sham", he called on the head of the government to reject this list.
The same is true for the Western Region delegation, led by Governor Awa Fonka Augustine, which is received by the Prime Minister on September 23, 2019. In this list, there are ministers from the Western region, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi of Public Works, Njoya Zakariaou, Minister Delegate to the Minister of Transport: as well as tenors of Rdpc of the region.
Announced by the President of the Republic on September 10 in a message to the nation, the Grand National Dialogue begins on September 29 and ends on October 4.
