The municipal councilor Social democratic front (SDF) of the urban commune of Douala 1 st requires the opening of a dialogue with the protesters of the English-speaking regions. On Equinox television this mid-day, he said the Cameroonian authorities must parley with their opponents and not only with their friends.
He recalled that the SDF asked Biya more than a year ago to convene a dialogue because it is a vital issue. It requires the President of the Republic of Cameroon, Paul Biya, to visit the northwestern and southwestern regions in crisis. "The President of the Republic who has received from the people a" mandate "that I always put in quotation marks must go, he must not delegate his power.
There are actions that count in the election of a President of the Republic. There are fundamental elements that must be respected. He must move when there is a crisis. It is a socio-political crisis if not a political crisis properly speaking. There is no time for the president.
There is the time of the people. The people are the principal. The president is the agent. Mr. Biya is a tenant of Etoudi. He is obliged to listen to those who sent him to Etoudi. He is not thirty years old. He had the duty not to delegate, but to listen to people who were furious.
Célestin Djamen says he still believes in dialogue although the situation has deteriorated and Paul Biya " does not deign to go to the English-speaking regions". He accuses the Cameroonian president of "blackmail, the threat with the Cameroonian taxpayer's money ".
For him, my central question, the one for which he fights, is federalism which for him, "does not mean secession but guarantees national unity that Mr. Biya is torpedoing" . The President of the Republic is accused of waiting until there is a total decay to appear as a Messiah with a miracle solution.
