Nine Geotechnical Engineers Have Been Missing Since December 2017 As They Traveled To The Southwest and Northwest of France To Construct 55 Steel Bridges

On November 11th, in the southwest and north-west of France, they went on a geotechnical survey as part of the project to build 55 metal bridges across the country. Nine engineers employed by BRECG have since December 7, 2017, missing. According to the daily Le Messager of Tuesday, January 23, 2017 that reports this information, it is more than forty days indeed that the families of these agents have no news from them.

These include Dieudonné Tefang, Dawai Justin, Francois Francois, Meuka Eliot, Kouakam Joseph, Yanmene Romeo, Fankam Armand Blaise and Yovla Fidelis Suilaru, as well as a locally recruited maneuver whose name is not mentioned in the newspaper. More than a month has passed since then and tired of waiting, the families of the disappeared have gathered in a collective to decry the silence of the state in this alarming situation.

"My husband called me every day, twice. But big is my surprise when I spent a whole day without receiving a call. After two days of unsuccessful calls, I decided to alert my little brother,  "says the wife of one of the missing. It was only three days later that the relatives of the deceased, decided to go to the management of the company BRECG, where they are told that the concerned would have entered an area not covered by telephone networks.

"We decided to seize the government in writing, including the Minister of Territorial Administration, because we are concerned about the silence the government is observing. Where does it come from that nine fathers of families disappear from the circulation without that emulating nobody? We have all seen how the Government reacted quickly when the Chinese hostages or the French were kidnapped in North Cameroon. All means have been put into play but why is it not the case for these. Is it because it's low class?  ", Insists the journalist Duval Ebale, spokesman for this collective.

Be that as it may, the Government's reaction to shed light on this case remains eagerly awaited.
