Abdul Karim Arrested: Secessionists put the blame on Paul Biya

Was the separatist leader Abdul Karim arrested by the Cameroonian authorities? In any case, this is claimed by the Consortium of English-speaking civil society (SCASCS).

In a letter to the head of the government, they denounce the kidnapping of this militant separatist.

"Mr. Paul Biya, in his recent speech, threatened to arrest the members of the diaspora engaged in the struggle for the liberation of the people of Southern Cameroons.. He put this threat into execution on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, with the arrest of Mr. Abdul Karim, who was returning from the Swiss embassy in Yaoundé, at the invitation of the Swiss government, to prepare the talks in the context of this crisis ", reads in this correspondence. Three separatist leaders, including John Mbah Akuroh, signed it.

In fact, just hours before his arrest, Abdul Karim had raised his doubts about the national dialogue. Indeed, he felt that the great dialogue could produce positive results only if it was led by a neutral personality. He also called for the resolutions to be issued to be binding.

These accusations, a few hours before the official opening of the great national dialogue, cast a shadow over it.

The national dialogue opens tomorrow. It will continue until 4 October and will be chaired by the Prime Minister.
